Jogjakarta: Borobudur

One of the sites I remembered from Sejarah classes during high school... Borobudur. It is, surprisingly, a Mahayana Buddhist temple in Central Java. It is listed as a UNESCO Heritage site.

We stayed at a hotel next to the Borobudur temple the night before, and set out for the heritage visit at 4.30 am! To catch the sunrise, of course =) It was fun and great experience walking in the dark, one of the few magnificent sunrises that I have caught. It could have been a much better photography with provision of a tripod, which I did not bring along due to its bulkiness. :(

Sister with the spectacles to see the sunrise clearly :P

Mount Bromo in the distance, such an awful a scenery at dawn!

 The lovely egg-yolk sun! =)

 Borobudur in Paris? Oopss~

The Stupas are amazing structures. Each of them is made to house a Buddha structure.

Came across some visitors who came for meditation.

 Sibling from another world!

Very much recommended to visit!! :D

Jogjakarta 2013: The Prambanan

Finally updating my next post of the outdated Jogja trip :P

This post showcases the Prambanan, a collection of Hindu temples built by the Mataraam Kingdom. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
